I think it's time I gave this journal up as a bad job. I've never had much interest in it, and it just makes no sense for me to have two blogs. I think I created this back when I was still keeping my composer persona separate from my Harry Potter persona. But now, I've realized two things: first of all that the Harry Potter fandom isn't what it once was for me, and secondly that I don't want to be two people at once. Being one person is tiring enough.
Isn't it funny that I used to laugh and nod emphatically when I'd read a post where people would say they had no life outside of Harry Potter, but now it saddens me?

Yep. I've discovered Firefly. Which is kinda funny, because I'd had an experience attempting to watch Serenity with my sister, and it made absolutely no sense at the time. Upon retrospect, I realize it's because I wasn't already familiar with the world. At any rate, a friend of the family, Dorwin, had the set and showed me the pilot over spring break, then recently lent us the entire series, which I've now seen in its entirety and love. (Now I just need to watch Serenity ...)
At any rate, I've become intrigued by River's thought process and how it might look in prose. This little ficlet is based on the premise (not entirely unfounded, but not exactly set in stone) that River sometimes hears people's thoughts as if they're talking to her. We see her psychic ability portrayed this way in Objects in Space, though I suspect it was more for artistic expression than anything else. For the purpose of this ficlet, however, I've decided to take the idea literally.

Edit: A funny side note. The positioning of "thanks to fernwithy" directly after my cut section is highly amusing in that it comes directly after my saying that my teddy bear is no longer pink. If you click the link, it looks like I said my teddy bear is no longer pink thanks to fernwithy. Rest assured, however, that I do not blame fernwithy for the fading of Pinky's color.

I've decided that once I've figured out how to do that nifty link thingy where you hide some of your post so as not to take up too much space, I'm going to start posting my Dumbledore fic here, because my Beta situation at the Sugarquill is less than stellar at the moment. I figured that since I've got this page that I've only used ... twice ... I might as well use it, right? |

Yep. Got a random plot bunny and I decided to write it down here 'cause I need to write it down somewhere or it'll run away or something. 'Course, I don't think I'll write anything on it until this summer at least.
So here it is. I plan on naming it "Mariner of Time".
Neville, we assume in this fic, has an unexplored musical aptitude, because I can't seem to write a main character who isn't a musician. He somehow manages to go back in time, but he has no idea where he is. Well, after an interesting series of events (none of which I have planned in the slightest), Neville ends up living with a muggle family (or it might be a couple who were never able to have children, I'm not sure) that's very musically inclined. At first Neville is puzzled by this family, being a wizard who has never been exposed to music, but once he starts learning music, he discovers that he's a prodigy and he never knew it, and, of course, knowledge of the muggle world comes with time.
Well, to make a (hopefully) long story short, he grows up to become Sir Neville Mariner, famous conductor of the Academy of St. Martin in the Fields (in case you didn't know, Sir Neville Mariner is a real person).
I plan on having one particular scene (chapter?) in which Neville meets his parents while his mother is pregnant with him. Perhaps he'll even become friends with them and try to prevent their fate, in which he'll end up failing, but learning a valuable lesson.
Well, anyway, I thought I'd share it. If you happen to come by my tiny plot of cyberspace, be sure to tell me what you think!

I opened this account today, but I doubt I'll be doing much with it until summer as I'll be extremely busy up to that point (in fact I should most definitely be doing some homework now), but I thought I'd start it up now.
IT'S ORANGE!
Do you know how awesome that is? I think that orange is starting to climb my favorite color hierarchy just because its ... orange. I think burgundy still holds the title, though. You just can't beat burgundy.
I usually post on my Xanga (which has the same user name, Aeterna13) but I'll designate this to my Harry Potter obsession because it seems all the Potterians post here. One thing this place does have over Xanga, the mood icons! They're hilarious! I finally decided on the "unexpected hamsters" 'cause they were so cute. |
